It was no surprise that some were cathartic characters, others of comical basis- but all evolved with my current environments and situations.
I started to post these "introspective characters sheets" on another Art website, and it had a surprising impact; people could either relate to the characters, or began liking them for their own personal reasons.
After a year, I was reconsidering my posting them on DA because of their very personal nature. DA has evolved over the last 10 years since I began here, and now it's more of a mainframe for professional portfolios, rather than a place where folks can get intimate with their work. It's either Fanart or bust, and the only original work that receives attention is very "mainstream" and coming from the established artistic community.
Hence, the reluctance to display something so personal.
But I have never been the "Conventional" person.
After seeing the attachment some folks had with some of my characters, and the off-shoot success some of them had in promoting my future Graphic Novel [God willing I ever get any free time to work on it more!], I decided that I should take a leap of faith, and post it here on DA as well. If I see the receive of its content to be alarmingly negative, I can always remove the content. So why be worried?
As of tonight, I'll be posting works from over the last year that deal with these characters, their descriptions and some comics that went along.
Who knows? Maybe we'll be in for a fun ride.
