Commission piece for :iconfoxfeather248:

Autumn is a good season to get answers to questions I need answered. It's such a busy time for everyone preparing for the winter ceremonies and/or hibernation, that things get done. Fast and efficiently.

So I was asking for a message to come to me, and low and behold only days after I received one. A big black-ash boar was resting in the night, at the foot of a tree, when he very sturdily got up, and without a stretch or hesitation, burst into a run.
I knew that the mid ground was the one I had to paint. The pre-gallop into the run, right after he got up.

Boars, chickens, and horses were not native to Canada. These were animals brought over by the colonists, and yet some legends consist of their presence or their images here. I was told that it was becuase these animals were guests here, that they soon made this place their home. And as always, they were serving to teach us how one can live amongst the natural habitants of any land without destroying the original dwellers.
It's a pity that- as always- the colonists never bothered to learn the lessons from them.

As always, please refrain form using this artwork for personal use- it is not to be redistributed or used, with exception of the artist and commissioner. I cannot stress enough the dangers of taking that which isn't yours- specifically form this culture. Please consider them as well.

Drawing them out- not as long as painting them. I never honestly timed myself, but I do know that I can do them quick if I have seen the image in a vision.

Wicked.

ಠ_ಠ

Wicked Indeed.
:icontarkheki:
First off, it is done in the Native American style- specifically the Pacific North West Coast.

Second- no matter what ANYONE tells you, even those big smart-ass university professors who think they know everything- Native Americans do NOT have "Animal gods". They never did, and they NEVER will. The only believe in one "god", and the animals in legend are Supernatural beings. They are not worshiped like gods, nor are they called "gods".

The more you know, the more we grow closer together. ;)

Geez, I can't help but fave this. The design is so well executed, and it's the coolest rendition of a boar I've seen. *_* My family crest is a wild boar, so I have a sort of affinity with them.
:iconkurokiba:
This image leaves me feeling quite boared.

I should be shot for that.

Seriously though, I didn't know you had wild boars in Canada. That's cool. There's an animal I never thought I'd see depicted like that. Good job.

Yes, you have every right to express yourself. And I have every right to let you know how stupid you are.
