Eagle and Elk

I was a recent GOH in a congregation, and was requested to illustrate images for specific attending members. I wanted to do something for the Con-chair, as he was incredibly supportive of my election as GOH, and made a personal effort to accommodate me any way he could.

"The Eagle Position" is a term used in many North West Pacific First Nations Bands to describe the head of the household, organization, or community congregation. With it, the title holds a large expected amount of responsibility in regards to the events taken place within the circle of the Eagle [that differs from the Raven Position].
Eagle is a symbol of power, friendship peace, and love. The responsibilities would include tending to the guests, caring for the people within the event, and bestowing gifts on the community members.

The Elk is known as "Good Father" or "Master of Ceremonies" in the Eastern Woodland cultures. An "Elk" would be expected to host the requested event, and make sure all things were running smoothly- even if it means sacrificing their time at the event by helping out in whichever way needed- even remedial tasks.
"Elk" will take care of other small issues that would arise in the community event- from match making, to mediation.

I wanted to pay my respects to the Eagle Position for the event held, and my invitation to attend. I designed this peace as a special request, and made it with the intention to honor the Elk.
