I take great pride in my work- especially when I am challenged and honored to do a piece that is cultural, or has a cultural background or inspiration (which is most of my work actually).
And I cannot specify enough how important, inconsiderate, and dangerous it is to take something that doesn't belong to you, or assume the image or the name of any of the animals or spirits without the proper recognition, acceptance or permission from them.
As such, this image is not permitted to be used outside the commissioner and the artist. And I would consider it dangerous to try such a thing- again, you may not believe in such things, but we do. So please be warned.
On a lighter note, I'll draw your attention to the 2 Ravens within the Dear. One in the neck, one in the body.
As well as the 4 spirits in the wolf- Raven in the tail, Wolf in the throat, Spirit in the shoulder, and Human face in the lower torso (yes, the nose of the human face makes the sheath on the wolf).
This was a good image for me. It helped to clear my mind a bit, and give me some strength.
Hope you like it Kimbo!
This is gorgeous. It's beautiful and I'm moved in a really deep way. I'm always a bit reluctant to reveal why I represent myself the way I do because I feel it's a very personal and spiritual thing for me. But this is perfect! It's simply beautiful and I love it as it's a great representation of where I come from and where I'm going. I'm not of Native American decent but I've always admired them for their strong sense of self and culture, regardless of what happens. Thanks also for teaching me some things I didn't know as well! I love learning about culture and ancestry (and of course this is what it's all about)
I am very honored that you are happy! And I really appreciate how much you are ready to learn and to listen and to respect. That in iteself paints a strong picture of who you are!
