I'm going to meet Richard Shorty! NWP art!!!

OK OKOK OK BREATH.
Ok.

So about 6 years ago, I had met Richard Shorty. Most of you probably don't know who that is, but he is a very VERY prominent First Nation artist.... his work is one of the more common ones to be seen used in the mainstream media; cards, books, shirts, etc. His works are also very well known within the circles of NWP as he revolutionized a style of "3d animals" that has since influenced my work for over 10 years.

6 years ago, I had met him in a pow-wow. I goobered over his work, and told him how he was my fav artist, and well... totally fangirled out. I gave him my painting of Wasgo [Ganukadet... seen here: fav.me/dglly1 ]
I gave it to him as a gift, and he was very happy... he even gave me a print of his as a "thank you".
Well, a few days later, I received an e-mail form him asking me to call him. I was freaking out with joy, and when we spoke, he wanted to say thank you for the gift, and how many were asking prints form it, and that we'll keep in touch. He also gave me his blessing to continue to work on the NWP style, as he saw my work and my tutelage, and I was left on cloud nine.

Well, today- 6 years later- I get crazy e-mail that only said that "Richard wants to meet you again" and then they gave me a phone number. I honestly thought it was another friend of mine, and so called the number only to be contacted with- Richard Shorty!
He asked if I was still doing "The [NWP] art", and what I was up to... and how he wanted to meet me, as he had a gift for me. Told me that my picture was framed and hanging in his work studio and wanted me to bring a portfolio with me to carry something home.
So of course, now I'm all freaking out and will call him later in the week to schedule a time and place. I'm blown away. I also have to borrow someone's portfolio case 'cause mine isn't here with me!

I'm freaking out peeps... my idol is meeting me again and I am going OUT OF MY FREAKIN' MIND. XDDD

I need to BREATH. I got up out of my seat and walked around my room and came back like 4 times already!!! OH GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS WEEKEND!!!!
