Once again, a very warm (very VERY warm apparently) and happy "Hello" to you all!
I hope the summer is going well and you guys are having fun! I also hope that the Winter Dwellers like me aren't suffering that much, and that all of you are keeping a tall glass of refreshment with ice handy!
Remember: Sunscreen is VITAL for this kind of weather!

Summer Cleaning
I have been going through my watch list and my Journal "Hall of fame" and did some cleaning. Mainly, artists that were banned (because of art theft) and anyone who has mysteriously disappeared I have removed from my watch and from my Journal.
I also split stuff in to new categories so that everyone can find link to their favorite art a lot fast!
However, if you see your icon in one category and prefer another, please tell me and I'll change it! I don't want to stigmatize anyone to a certain art genre or fandom if they don't want to be! :blowkiss:

Con-No-Baka #1!
I have reserved for myself a table at Con-No-Baka #1 this year! It's going to be held in November, and basically it's the same location and some of the same people who put on AnimeNorth!
I figured I'd love to do something like that during the college year to relieve some of the college-time stress, and I am also happy to report that in that time I will be selling something SUPERB. I don't want to give it all away as I have yet to start working on it, but I'll update you all with the info if and when it gets done! ;)

The banning of :iconsesshoumarusama:
Status is horrendous.
I have come to believe that either no one cares that they got banned, or no one even wants to try to help them out and get them back, but clearly I haven't got anyone willing to help with this situation. While only a minor 2-3 people have tried to do something everyone else just keeps posting me with "Oh! That's terrible! I hate DA" comments or "I hate it when that happens! So sad." And they move on their way. Clearly, they like to type a lot, but not to DO anything.
I have sent the group e-mails with no response ever coming back. No one who knows a bit of Japanese is helping me contact them and it breaks my heart to think that something like this can happen to a group of fine people and no one cares. Especially since their culture already sees Westerners in a poor eye, this just helps them to further support those views. It is truly ridiculous, and I for one am really upset about it. I have recently bought a Doujinshi by the group (and one of my favorite artists) and I have to come to terms with the fact that I cannot even TELL them how much I admire, enjoy, and appreciate their work. I realize that in Western Culture the goal of art is just to acquire more and more prints/images/popularity without a care as to who made them, or the meaning, the effort put into them, or the social commentary of them, but this isn't so from my individual culture/s as well as theirs. And it's really unfair.
I'm still doing my best, but I realize it's going to be just me and maybe another 2 people down this road.
Now that's upsetting.

***CHECK MY SCRAPS!***
I'm an avid Scrap user! While most of my work goes up in my official gallery, I scrap the sketches after about 2-3 weeks. A lot of people forget to check the Scraps and there are some crazy things there for the fun of it! I guarantee at least a few giggles if you go! :giggle:

My stand on ART THEFT!!!!
A heated topic that has touched all of us in one way or another. My opinion? Very lengthy! So to check it out go here: [link]

Prints!- $5
I have my print list up! [link]
While I do put my artwork watermark-free on-line, I do realize that people would prefer just to right-click and save images as opposed to actually helping support them financially. And while I'm all for the sharing of art, I also realize that for some of us it's our actual JOBS. That being said, I will NOT be putting water-marks on my images, but as you could probably tell, all the images are put up with a low resolution and mediocre size. Perfect if you want to save on your hard drive. However, if you want a high quality print for a shinning result and display, $5 is all you need to get one!

Commissions are OPEN!

I've tried searching for them online, using Magic Circle and Magic Square, but all I end up with is a bunch of anime sites with those words. Even when I put them in quotes or use the word Doujinshi in the search request. *sigh* I dunno what else to do.

I wish my sensei were still here. I'm sure she'd help. If I can contact her via e-mail, I'll let you know.

I hope I get a reply from her soon. If I don't, I sent a note to a Japanese deviant. Still haven't heard from him yet. Anyway, I hope one of them responds.

Nyaoh....The banning of Sesshoumarusama is very sad. I have a friend that knows lots of Japanese that may be able to help though. I'll ask her if she has time.

Oh man! Hot! I am so glad my class is ending this week, because I cannot *take* walking to it in this heat much longer. I arrive everyday drenched in sweat...plus the humidity is terrible, since we've been harrassed by the tropical storms! O_o

I am sorry that you've had such a poor response with Sesshoumarusama. I sent them an email as well, with no response. Since I knew they spoke at least a little English, I tried to keep it very simple, but it seems like perhaps they just haven't been checking that address. I wish I could help with the Japanese, but I only know enough Japanese to pass a first semester class! I.E, I can tell you my name...and that I am a student at the University of Florida. Not much else. ;) But good luck with that translation program!
