I wanted the last panel to read “…I had since I was an eyas”… but then I realized many folks wouldn’t know that that was the proper term for a baby Hawk. I think “Chick” is still suitable.
On a side note, this comic horrified many a tumblr users- as well as my sister- who inquired as to the whereabouts of the other chicks.
To quote my sister, she asked "But, his chick siblings did survive TOO, right?”
To which I replied “Are they in the panel by him? She does say WE will always be your family, WE love you.”
The noise she made was priceless.

First.... I didn't notice the difference between the chicks until I finished the comic and had to double check
